Hi,
First, let me say that I'm very impressed with ImageVis3d. This is my first
time using a serious 3d application, and frankly I did not expect to be able
to do the kinds of things that are possible with iv3d. So, thanks!
I have an issue that I could use a bit of help on. I am interested in
importing an RGBA 3d volume into iv3d. From the color images in the iv3d
manual, and the fact that the description of the "QVis Data" format includes
the comment "including RGBA and float extensions," I infer that it is likely
that iv3d supports the import of RGBA data. So, not knowing most of the
formats listed in the manual, I googled until I found the description of the
NRRD format, and I wrote a small matlab function to save my data as an NRRD
RGBA. This seemed not to work; in iv3d's debug window I got the message:
ERROR (ConvertToRAW): Only 3D NRRDs are supported at the moment
I should note that I did include a "kind: spatial spatial spatial RGBA" field
that, if I understand correctly, should disambiguate the interpretation of
the
different dimensions of the NRRD.
So, my questions are: (1) is it possible to import a 3d RGBA, and (2) if so,
what file format should I use, and (3) if it is not natively supported by
Matlab, any tips on where I can find converters or, failing that,
documentation
for that file format?
Thanks in advance,
--Tim
