Hi,
I see the problem, should be an easy fix. I really love NRRD for it's ability to specifiy the same thing in multiple ways. We do already properly parse the tag "spacings" but - of course - there is yet another way to define spacings :-). Nevertheless as soon as I get to my office I'll check in a fix. I'll keep you updated.

ImageVis3D did not respect Z spacing in some of my NRRD images, and after manual file examination I thought it was a bug in writing library. However, I realized in the meanwhile that ImageVis3D is not properly interpreting NRRD format (it should infer spacing between samples on axes from transformation matrix).
I do not have time to deal with ImageVis3D not, but I plan to switch to Tuvok in the future (maybe Jan'11) for visualization. However, I can provide you the offending NRRD image if you need it.
