I am confused.  You mention "major problems" with VS9 and 10, and then
you give the error message from VS9 w/ SP1.  Are you seeing other
problems or are they all the same?

Anyway, you need the VS 2008 Feature Pack (which is distinct from the
service pack) to build with VS 2008.

We can't do much with this; I don't even know which file this comes
from, let alone the line.  Can you provide more background?
