I was recording stats by writing after every 5 sec afr_context stats
readings, to a file. When I run interactively, it displays fine, but
when I playback the camera path, it outputs 0 and not even update the
counts properly. I am confused, what might be the problem.

I've never tried using a five-second camera path sample rate. Do you mean the path is recorded at a five second rate or that the -sync parameter is 5?

Are you able to record a path if you select a one second interval? How many control points do you record in the path? What does the automator output? What delta t and delta time does it use?

I wanted to run the same path on all samplers and measure stats and
streams.

You are recording the path in the itanium2 branch build and running it in the AFR branch build-- I haven't had any problems moving between the two branches-- try recording a new path with a 1 second sample interval and if it doesn't work, send it too me and I will take a look.
