[MANTA] interface for time-variant data

What would be the easiest/fastest way to write an interface for Manta that lets us:

(1) change isovalues
(2) begin/stop animation of time-variant data
(3) doesn't interfere with the rest of Manta (i.e. doesn't have to be hacked into a separate branch
due to ugliness)

I'm hoping to get a video out for my paper before July 7, so this has to be working soon. Any ideas, or am I screwed?
