I just discovered this plugin for Mozilla Thunderbird. It allows for some sweet displays of subversion and cvs commit messages (the coolest being the side by side diffs).

The only thing I've noted is if you have really large checkins it can take a while, though if it's too long Thunderbird allows you to stop processing and view the mail message without formatting.
