It is possible, I don't think LD_LIBRARY_PATH is used during link (could be wrong), there are several other possible LD_ environment variables that modify how the ld command works... take a look in your environment using "env".

Did you try building from a fresh build directory?

Is it possible that one of my environment variables is the problem? It wouldn't be LD_LIBRARY_PATH; that one is for loading libraries.
