[Manta] 450fps on leopard!

Hi, when I compile manta with gcc and -m64 or with either the 32 or 64 bit version of icc I get about 450fps on leopard. That's great, except that the "optimization" results in a black screen. 32bit gcc on leopard still works. Before I spend time trying to debug this, has anyone else encountered this or know how to fix this? If not, I'll start hacking away...
