Almost. It got re-envisioned as a rebirth of PersistentIO but it isn't 
finished (Steve and I left).

see Model/Groups/DynBVH.cc (DynBVH::readwrite).

It was pretty close to done, so I think someone could finish it if they took 
the time to do so.
