Hi:

The are some interesting configure options, and I'd like to ask some question about them:

--with-mpi=DIR          Use the mpi installation in DIR
--with-globus=DIR       Use the globus installation in DIR

Does this mean that there might be support for cluster (distributed memory) configurations?


--with-qt=DIR           Use the Qt installation in DIR

What is Qt for? Is there an alternative to use Qt as the GUI API? This would mean we could get a native look and feel on each platform?

--with-vtk=DIR Build the VTK components. Use VTK build in DIR.

What is the VTK component? Could you point to some manual pages where I can learn more about SCIRun interaction with VTK?

--with-opengl=DIR       Use the OpenGL installation in DIR

What is the effect of OpenGL? Is the view window drawn using directly using OpenGL commands?


If these options are documented in the manual, just tell me so. A quick browse through it didn't show anything, but I was using an older version (1.20).
