One more thing: when the Thirdparty/install.sh script fails for some
reason, is there a way to restart from the point it failed? It seems to
me it just does everything again, and then it fails somewhere because
some permissions are not correct. I had to delete the created
Thirparty_bin folder and start again.

This is a reasonable request.  I will look into it.  In the mean time,
if you would like, you can edit the "install.sh" file and comment out
(place a '#' at the beginning of the line) all the packages that
succeeded.  Eg:

#osx/install-dlcompat.sh    $1 $3
#osx/install-tcl.sh         $1 $3
#osx/install-tk.sh          $1 $3
#osx/install-itcl.sh        $1 $3
#osx/install-blt.sh         $1 $3
osx/install-xerces.sh      $1 $3
osx/install-jar.sh         $1
#osx/install-mpeg.sh        $1 $3
osx/install-imagemagick.sh $1 $3
#osx/install-teem.sh        $1 $BITS $3
#osx/install-unp.sh         $1 $BITS $3
