Hi,
The WordList datatype is an example datatype that is 'created' in
the Developer's Guide. It does not exist in the SCIRun source tree.
The example in the Developer's Guide is showing how to go through the
entire process of creating a new data type and using this new data
type in a new module.
I believe that if you continue going through the rest of the Guide,
the confusion you are experiencing will be cleared up. If you have
any other questions please feel free to contact me directly!

The tutorial references an #include for a WordList datatype header,
