Hi,

  I am assuming you downloaded the RPM and installed it.  Based on
this assumption, the problem you are seeing is that the RPM was built
on a machine with the latest graphics drivers for a volume
visualization capable graphics card.  If you believe that your
graphics card is capable of vol vis, please update to the most recent
drivers.  If it is not, then you will need to download the src tar
ball and build SCIRun yourself.

  However, if you would like to wait a week or so, we do know about
this problem and are fixing it in the 1.24 full release (you have the
beta).
