Hi, it seems to me that SCIrun and BioPSE will help me a lot. So I am
going to buy a new hard drive for it to install Linux. I read the
document
http://software.sci.utah.edu/doc/Installation/Guide/linux/srig.pdf
It seems to me that the hard drive (1G) and memory requirement (512MB)
is not much at all. It is kind of amazing. I am going to use Utah
Torso. I think it is a large dataset due to the high resolution. In
other FEM software, running such a large model will require large
memory ( > 2GB). And some software does not even support over 2GB
memory. (I am still waiting for a new version of Abaqus). If I draw a
3D streamline in Matlab, it could take me several days and still stop
due to lack of memory.
I wonder if anybody could confirm that how much memory will be
supported and required by BioPSE/FEM. Also how fast the CPU is needed?
The functions I like to use also include streamline etc.
Due to its amazing small requirement, I have to confirm that whether
the Utah Torso is a 3D model? Is the visualization in BioFEM for 3D?
http://software.sci.utah.edu/doc/User/Tutorials/BioFEM/BioFEM.html
Does anybody know Utah torso's mesh size? I cannot find this on documentation.
Many thanks,
HS
