Hi Ashish,I was having the same problem as Chris when I tried loading SCIRun in Yosemite (OS X 10.10). Reinstalling XQuartz did the trick.Here is the direct download link to it:Thanks,AshuOn Oct 22, 2014, at 5:29 PM, Doshi, Ashish <ashishdoshi@seas.wustl.edu> wrote:Hi Chris,
I had the same issue when I first installed SCIRun on a OS X 10.9 machine. You’re correct — X11 has not been supported since 10.6, and Xquartz should be the default xterm application.
The error appears to be a failure of the system to check the installation state of xterm when items are run from the Applications menu. A simple re-install of Xquartz should fix the problem.

Best of luck!

I just downloaded SCIRun 4.7 on a mac workstation running OSX 10.9.5
When I start SCIRun I get the following:
<PastedGraphic-1.tiff>
This is strange because I have Xquartz installed and it’s working fine. It appears that the operating system is trying to use X11 as the default xterm application, which is no longer distributed with OSX. Does anyone know a workaround for this? Thanks.
