Hi Alex,

Make sure you have the matlab executables accessible from the SYSTEM PATH variable, especially for the 64 bit version it is the C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R2013a\bin\win64, not only the \bin. Also make sure that you can access the  directory C:\Windows\Temp in the File explorer at least once from your Administrator account, because of the implicit write protection from the user account. It seems that the interface cannot write there. Good luck

Subject: [SCIRUN-USERS] Matlab Interface

Dear all,

First of all thanks a lot for this nice mailing list. I am completely new to SCIrun and am just trying to figure out the very basics of the program. At the moment I am attempting to use the Matlab Interface and get it to run but seem to not be lucky with it that much.

I am working on a Windows 7 64 bit system and have 2 version of Matlab installed: 2012b (32bit) and 2013a (64bit). When trying to connect to a running Matlab instance I start the 2012b Version and try to connect to it via the Matlab Interface. However besides the “trying to connect” message nothing happens. Additionally, when trying to execute the block the command line window shows an error like: “system I/O file not found”. I assume to get the interface working correctly the configuration file has to be altered? However  that is just an assumption so I really don’t know what could be the problem. Is there anyone that could perhaps provide some more feedback on this issue. Help would be very much appreciated J

Best wishes and thank you in advance,

Alex
