Hi Dženan,
yes there is a reason why the far clipping plane is not thousands of units away: precision. Normaly, everything in ImageVis3D is very close to the viewer and for volumes it is very unlikely to have a giant extend (in particular since we normalize them to the unit cube). If we now for (very rare cases) increase the far distance, we will for (for the usual use case) break depth buffer precision. The most useful thing I could image would be to expose a switch to the settings that increases the far distance.
