At first I thought this was in trunk. I almost had a heart attack.
There is a solid wall between the Manta engine and the GUI-- we've been able to accomplish almost everything using transactions and callbacks. I'm sure we can perform all of these operations using existing mechanisms (for example, there are several animation callbacks), after your deadline.
