Of course you can create the camera path manually, but it's just much easier to use the existing tool. You just set a few options, tell it how frequently to save the camera position, and then interact with the model normally. Save the output file and use it to run a benchmark or camera path from the bin/manta program.

I copied an email to: http://code.sci.utah.edu/Manta/index.php/Camera_paths with info on creating camera paths manually (used for screenshots).
