Hongyu,

Yes, SCIRun will install from source code on any linux platform to any directory you choose. For detailed SCIRun documentation, please see the page at:

http://software.sci.utah.edu/doc/

From there you can find instructions for installation of SCIRun from source code at:

http://software.sci.utah.edu/doc/Installation/Guide/linux/srig.html#sec.source_inst

If you have any questions on installing from source code, feel free to ask this list.

I have to ask this since the RPM installation will install to 
/usr/local/SCIRun
which need the administrator right.

If I could install from source code, I could use the cae Linux
computers which I don't have administrator right. That will save the
hassle of installing Linux on myself.
