Subject: Dual core processors and EM64T, and RAM memory

Has SCIRun been tested with Intel Dual Core and/or EM64T processors? If I modify the SRC file, how do I recompile it?
Can anyone help on how to free up some memory when SCIRun is running many iterations? I have 3 GB of RAM and it uses almost all of it before it crashes.
