Hi,

  Unfortunately there is not an easy way to access the scirun-users
mailing list archive.  I will look into seeing if we can figure out
something to make this work.

  As for remotely displaying the SCIRun Viewer window... this is
problematic.  In some cases it will just work, but in other cases it
will cause SCIRun to crash.  If the Viewer is being displayed on a
machine that is very similar to the one it is actually being run on,
then there is a good chance that it will work.  However, we have run
into problems displaying from linux to an sgi, from sgi to mac, from
one version of linux to another, etc.  This mainly happens when the
Viewer tries to display 'fancy' graphics (such as textures and volume
renderings).  This is partly due to the fact that during compilation,
SCIRun looks to see the level of GL support and compiles the code
based on this information... but when you remotely display the Viewer,
the GL that will do the rendering lives on the remote machine, and
usually does not match the parameters that were compiled against.
