Hi Chris,
Can you check your OS X Console app to see if there are any X11 error
messages?
We had a problem where SCIRun was only using X11 DISPLAY :0 in OS X 10.5 or
greater, which has similar symptoms - this error was fixed in SCIRun 4.5.
