I don't know whether you saw a previous email. Yes, thanks, I managed to build on Ubuntu, forcing CMake to use gcc 4.6 and Qt 4.7

I created a fresh VirtualBox guest host installations of Ubuntu 12.04 and 12.10 64bit. On both guest OSs, I installed the dependencies listed on the Seg3D wiki, compiled Qt 4.7.4 as described and installed it in a local directory, and added it's bin directory to PATH. I then built the current Seg3D release (2.1.4) from source with build.sh. I haven't seen any link errors with the zlib library in either build. I used GCC 4.6 on Ubuntu 12.10 due to the Boost build issue.
