Dear All,I hope you and your families had a wonderful holiday season and a joyful new year! …We will hold our ShapeWorks users get-together on Thursday, Jan 9th at 11 am (see below for more info). As a new year treat :), we will have Dr. Amy Lenz, postdoc research associate in the Orthopedics Research Lab, present her shape modeling story (use case) to characterize anatomical variations in ankles. In particular, Amy will showcase how she used ShapeWorks tools to perform SSM for a set of three ankle bones in a cohort of healthy individuals.Potential agenda:- Shape modeling results on three ankle bones built using an older ShapeWorks release (ShapeWorksRun4.5)- Algorithmic parameter choices and learned lessons along the way to achieve a stable solution.- How we arrive at clinically meaningful results from the significant modes of variation.- Comparing these results to our newest model run on the same dataset using the newest release of ShapeWorks, highlighting feature improvements and compare the model development process between the two versions.- Preliminary results on a new, larger-scale dataset using the latest ShapeWorks release.- Open discussion about tuning algorithmic parameters further to arrive at a stable solution. When: Thursdays every four weeks starting August 15th from 11am to 1pm MDT.
