[IV3D-USERS] Wow - there's my brain

I have MRI images of my brain - but when I try to load them into iv3d the 3d
image appears to be an "exploded - assembly" type of image.  By that I mean it
looks more like a image of a hamburger with the bun floating above the pickles
floating above the tomato above the beef above the bun.  To be speckic the
ventricals are on top of the stack of brain parts.  Weird.

It was converted from a CD of MRI data from 2002 - 

How do I tell what data types iv3d can and cannot convert? 

How does one know what type of data file they have - are there magic strings 
in
the data file?
