Well… I tried reading an ASCII file

The file is a series of ascii formatted values, one per line, range 0 to 1.e7.

The sequence has z incrementing first, then y, then x.

The grid is 31(x) x 31(y) x 20(z)

Here are the settings I used:

Domain Size       31 x 31 x 20

                Aspect ratio        0.04 x 0.04 x 0.01

                Quantization      32 bit float

                Encoding              text

                Edianess              Little

                Header Skip        0

Then I clicked “OK”

And then IV3D , ….. HUNG

So, now what?

Hi,

use the  "Load Dataset from file" function and select "Any file *.*" from the type menu. Point ImageVis3D to you ASCII file. Specify a target filename. ImageVis3D will tell you no build-in automatic converter recognized the file and will ask you for parameters. Set the parameters correctly and select "text" as encoding.

Cheers
