Ok, I've started a list on the wiki: http://code.sci.utah.edu/Manta/index.php/MarkedForDeath
Once it looks like file addition activity has died down we'll start round two of removing files we still find useful from the list.

Go for it. We already selected the BART reader for death if you want to make a note of it.

Could we please have a dead code killing? I have a feeling that there are certain classes in manta that no one uses and no one will ever use (or maintain). Could we get rid of them (they're still in source control if we ever need to revive them in the future)? This would make compiling faster, make maintenance easier, and make it less overwhelming for new users to figure out what to use in manta. How about we start off by everyone adding files to a list that they think are candidates for removal and then have a second round where people remove files from the list that they deem useful (ideally with an explanation). The two round system would keep confusion down. Then once things settle down we go and svn rm all the files left on the list.

If this sounds ok I can go ahead and create a page of death on our wiki that we can use for this.
