Hi Michael,

 

You are correct that the export is not the PCA loadings, despite the name in the software (we will change now that you point it out).  What is exported is actually the "raw component scores".  They will have variance equal to the eigenvalue for each PCA mode (column).  The rows will be the "raw component scores" for each sample/subject.

The version of ShapeWorksView that I’m using allows you to export “PCA Loading Values.”  Because the values can be much greater or smaller than +1 or -1, I assume that they are, in fact, the PC scores.  Is that correct?  That is what I assumed in the past, but I want to be sure.

 

Essentially, how should I interpret the loading values output from ShapeWorks?
