Hi Ayla,

I can't get to the point where I can specify a certain mesh, SCIRun crashes before the file browser launches (right after clicking on "Load" in the drop-down menu "File". It's similar with the "UI" windows, SCIRun crashes right after clicking on "UI" in the main window, it is not able to open the new window properly.

Best, Felix

Hi Felix,

I don't think you're seeing the same problem that Chris had - that was a bug
in the script that starts SCIRun from the App bundle. This looks like a
different bug.

What kind of mesh file are you opening when you get this crash?

I've had intermittent problems starting SCIRun in OSX. The behavior is as
follows: I double click the SCIRun application in a Finder window. It starts
X11 (if it's not already running), then the SCIRun icon momentarily appears
in the Dock, and then it disappears. SCIRun never starts. Sometimes I am able
to work around this by opening new X11 terminal windows or closing existing
windows. Sometimes I have to reboot the computer before SCIRun will start
again. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a workaround?

Details:
SCIRun 4.4 (though this behavior is reproducible with any version 4.x)
MacBook Pro running OSX 10.6.8

Thanks,
Chris

Any insights on that issue? I used to have it too with former versions of SCIRun (also OS X 10.6.8.), but now
with SCIRun 4.7. at least SCIRun always starts. However, when I click on certain buttons, it crashes. The
output below is what it get, when I try to load a mesh by "file" --> "load". But it
also crashes with the  "UI" buttons of the modules. So it seem's there are still unresolved issues
with X11?

Best, Felix
