Hello, everyone.

My lab has recently acquired a workstation/server as a platform for SCIRun, but we need to get a PCI-E video card that has at least 512MB and supports (at least) dual monitors and will compatible with hardware, the OSes that are on the machine, and, naturally, SCIRun.

The computer has an Asus KFN4-D16 motherboard with two dual opteron 2218 Dual Core CPUs (2.6GHz) with 12GB of ECC RAM. This system will be dual boot into Linux x64 (between CentOS/Fedora, haven't finalized it yet) and Vista x64. I have been looking at several cards in the nVIDIA family including the 8 series (8800 GTS/GTX) or Qadro series (FX 1700/3700), and I was wondering what people's opinions and suggestions on these choices are in terms of compatability, how well they work, and worthiness. Other video card or resource suggestions are also welcome.

Thanks a bunch,
Kevin
