Hi all,

After some struggling, the new Spline Tool is finally using a periodic cubic spline with a centripetal scheme parameterisation (i.e. identical to the splines produced by Matlab's function cscvn).

Because it's built on the Polyline Tool, it inherits all the nice features like moving seed points around, etc.

I still have to apply it to segmentation, and the spline computation could be improved, but if somebody wants to play with the tool so far, please see patch 20091023-011400-spline-contour.diff in

Some documentation, links and notes on computing the cubic spline can be found here

Best regards,

Ramon.
